Banquet Jeofoil J205

Banquet Jeofoil J205

Sire: Banquet Faddist F238
Dam: Banquet Wivem F500
Pedigree:    >> Click here to View

Click Here to Read Notes >

Notes: Jeofoil J205 was selected for use at Banquet for obvious doing ability. His scans reinforced our visual assessment. J205 is a long smooth, shiny coated sire and is proving to be an elite calving ease sire. He is sired by F238 and from a B017 daughter. Both F238 and B017 have exceptional calving ease. He was purchased by David and Gail Geddes in our 2015 Autumn Sale for second top price of $20,000. We have repurchased a half share.

Banquet Jupiter J263

Banquet Jupiter J263

Notes: This outstanding sire prospect topped our 2015 Autumn Bull Sale at $40,000. He was purchased by Richard and Sandra Retallack, Glengowan Stud, NSW. This is the third stud sire the Retallack’s have purchased from Banquet. Jupiter J263 is strong headed with a well hooded eye. He is long thick and muscular, recording our highest EMA scan. Jupiter’s foot structure and temperament are exceptional. He was our first son of Forbidabull F485 to be offered for Sale. Forbidabull F485 topped our 2012 sale to Doug and Barb Tozer, Onslow Stud. A son of Forbidabull F485 topped the 2015 Onslow Sale at $16,000.

Banquet Jindabyne J296

Banquet Jindabyne J296

Sire: Banquet Frederick F683
Dam: Banquet Julie W164
Pedigree:    >> Click here to View

Click Here to Read Notes >

Notes: J296 has grown into a very muscular sire. As a youngster he appealed to us for his strength of head and jaw, depth and thickness of body and clean coat. He inherits his extra length from his sire, Frederick F683. His incredible volume and capacity is from his exceptional dam, W164. At 15 years this daughter of Hingaia 469 still looks like a heifer. Sound, easy doing and docile. J296 is her third son we have used.

Banquet Jhett J426

Banquet Jhett J426

Sire: Banquet Faddist F238
Dam: Banquet Dream G489
Pedigree:    >> Click here to View

Click Here to Read Notes >

Notes: Jhett J426 is the first son of our very popular donor Dream G489. G489 has the genetics to be exceptional, by the old legend Hingaia 469 and from the best cow to come from the Vermont Dispersal, Dream Y301. Her phenotype is faultless, strong headed, thick and deep. Excellent udder and plenty of milk. J426 brings this powerful maternal background with improved calving ease from F238.

Banquet Angus

Banquet Jamberoo J507

Sire: Banquet Duncan D412
Dam: Forres Wilcoola D107
Pedigree:    >> Click here to View

Click Here to Read Notes >

Notes:  Jamberoo J507 is a young sire with enormous potential. He is a classic Duncan son. Strong headed, deep bodied and wide through the hindquarters. The extra length of body comes from his maternal grandsire, Abode A005. Abode topped our 2007 sale when Forres Stud purchased him for $20,000. The maternal line of J507 was our pick of the Forres dispersal. We purchased D107 and her dam Y004. Y004 is also the dam of the top price female at the dispersal. D107 also produced Hudson H411 who we also used.

Prime Juggernaut J15

Prime Juggernaut J15

Sire: Tuwharetoa Regent D145
Dam: Prime Lowan F20
Pedigree:    >> Click here to View

Click Here to Read Notes >

Notes:  Stephen Handbury purchased Juggernaut for a $41,000 record for a yearling bull for his Anvil Stud. Stephen’s description of the bull sparked our interest and he certainly did not disappoint on inspection. He showed great capacity, dimension and hindquarter and length of body. His mobility and style was a feature. J15 displays excellent early growth. We chose to test him in our program. He will add diversity of type and pedigree and be a valuable bench mark. Our first son of Juggernaut sold at 11 months for $16,000. We retained semen and will test him alongside his sire.

Millah Murrah Jupiter J194

Millah Murrah Jupiter J194

Sire: Booroomooka Theo T030
Dam: Millah Murrah Flower F126
Pedigree:    >> Click here to View

Click Here to Read Notes >

Notes: Millah Murrah Jupiter J194 was purchased by Pheasant Creek Brangus. He appealed greatly to us his strength of top line, muscularity and soft coat. His proven pedigree is also a feature. He is by Booramooka Theo whose sons have sold to $80,000. The dam of J194 is a daughter of the popular Millah Murrah Equator D78. She is a donor at Ascot Angus and they sold a flush brother to J194 to top their 2015 sale at $24,000.

Banquet Harman H261

Banquet Harman H261

Sire: Banquet Xplanation X060
Dam: Vermont Irene W47
Pedigree:    >> Click here to View

Click Here to Read Notes >

Notes: The first sons of Harman H261 will feature in our February 2017 sale. Harman H261 topped our 2014 Sale at $32,000 when he was purchased by John, Robyn and Peter Blyth, Fernleigh Stud. We purchased a half share in H261. Harman H261 has replaced his sire, the $30,000 Xplanation X060, in our sire team. The daughters of X060 at Banquet are exceptional and we expect H261 to continue this line. Vermont Irene W47, the dam of H261, has an incredibly powerful head and jaw. She is heavy boned and exceptionally thick. A powerhouse of a cow. W47 was produced from a Banquet embryo that Vermont purchased to found their stud.

aberdeen-homer-h70-1

Aberdeen Estate Homer H70

Sire: Te Mania Emperor E343
Dam: Aberdeen Estate Dream F21
Pedigree:    >> Click here to View

Click Here to Read Notes >

Notes: Homer H70 was purchased at the Aberdeen Dispersal in partnership with Anvil Stud. His pedigree is a “who’s who” of record price Angus cattle. His sire Emperor E343 was the Australian Record holder at $91,000. His dam Dream F21 is the record holder at $48,000.
The first calves by Homer show great potential. Homer H70 is proving to have excellent calving ease.

Banquet Angus

Banquet General G442

Sire: Garrison Dynamite 8128
Dam: Banquet Yendi P05
Pedigree:    >> Click here to View

Click Here to Read Notes >

Notes: “The General” G442 has been retained. Yendi P05 is in the top bracket of Banquet breeders. She succumbed to old age at 19 years. Tremendous soundness and longevity. Her daughters and granddaughters carry on her tradition. P05 is in the maternal pedigree of Banquet sires X030, X088, Z032, A034, C146 and C351. G442 is sired by the old US outcross bull Garrison Dynamite, our first Dynamite daughters are now rising 14 years and continue to show structural soundness with good udders and milk production. When we were searching for a maternal bull with soundness and longevity we chose to breed one. Not buy some new beaut model. After all it takes time to prove longevity. “The General” is that bull. Lightning strike or snake bite might get him but at least we know longevity is bred in. G442 worked in summer 14/15 and came out of the cows fat, that’s a good start.

Banquet Graduate G464

Banquet Graduate G464

Sire: Banquet Xtra Belief X030
Dam: Banquet Julie W164
Pedigree:    >> Click here to View

Click Here to Read Notes >

Notes: Graduate G464 is a moderate framed bull with exceptional thickness and muscularity. He weighs in excess of 1200kg. We retained G464 for these traits and more importantly for the power of his dam. Sons of Julie W164 have sold to $19,000 and averaged $12,500. She is deep, thick, strong headed and has a magnificent udder. Not surprisingly Julie W164 is a daughter of Hingaia 469. Our first son of G464 sold for $20,000 at our 2016 Autumn Sale.

Banquet Angus

Banquet Gentleman G500

Sire: Hingaia 469
Dam: Vermont Dream Y301
Pedigree:    >> Click here to View

Click Here to Read Notes >

Notes: We introduced Hingaia 469 to Banquet in 1999. His daughters have been so valuable that we continue to include his genetics in our program. Gentleman G500 is our introduction. This 469 son is from the famous Dream Y301. G500 was exactly what you would expect. Massive head and jaw, deep, thick and heavy. An accident to his hind leg means we can only access him through AI. His flush sister is a favourite donor at Banquet.

f024

Banquet Fleet F024

Sire: Banquet Ballis B017
Dam: Banquet Dream D478
Pedigree:    >> Click here to View

Click Here to Read Notes >

Notes: Fleet F024 was an under rated sire in our program. That's until we sorted the bulls and our replacement heifers. The F024 progeny featured. F024 is one of the more outstanding Ballis B017 sons we have bred. Ballis B017 had over 100 sons in our 2011 and 2012 Sales that averaged $9,000. We retained four sons. Fleet F024 is a large framed, fine fronted bull with extra depth and capacity. He is very easy calving and has been used over maiden heifers. Like all good "heifer" bulls he is now too heavy for maidens.

f369

Banquet Faith F369

Sire: Raff Midland Z204
Dam: Banquet Quiet D348
Pedigree:    >> Click here to View

Click Here to Read Notes >

Notes: Faith F369 is our pick of the sons of Raff Midland Z204. He was purchased by long time clients, The James family at Casterton. He delivered exceptional thickness and muscularity. But without sacrificing the refinement through his shoulder. F369 always had a slick coat and soft, fine skin. When we selected Midland for use his dam Doris W10, and granddam Doris S138, were major attractions. We admired both these cows on multiple visits to Raff’s for their phenotype and progeny.

Banquet Forbidabull F485

Banquet Forbidabull F485

Sire: Banquet Day Dream D053
Dam: Banquet Dream W173
Pedigree:    >> Click here to View

Click Here to Read Notes >

Notes: Forbidabull F485 is a Banquet super sire in the making. Forbidabull sold for $26,000 to Onslow Stud of Doug and Barb Tozer where his son topped their sale at $16,000. The strength of head and jaw, body capacity, thickness and muscularity of his progeny is exceptional. F485 is proof that line breeding works. He traces three times to the legendary Kiwi Dream M41. His dam W173 is our top donor. Her ten sons have sold to $26,000 and averaged $10,300. Soon she will loose her crown to one of her daughters. That’s how good breeding works. The sons and grandsons of F485 will soon depose him as well. Jupiter J263, his $40,000 son is overtaking him already.

Banquet Frederick F683

Banquet Frederick F683

Sire: Coonamble Z3
Dam: Vermont Dream B272
Pedigree:    >> Click here to View

Click Here to Read Notes >

Notes: We consider Vermont Dream Y301 to be the most influential, non-Banquet bred, Dream cow. F683 is a grandson of Y301. Through his sire he brings another top cow, Imran Rosebud U17. On inspection F683 had extra extension of neck, length of body and strong loin. His progeny show these traits and his “K” and “L” calves are standouts. His first daughters are feminine with great capacity and depth. They have excellent udders and fine teats. We are now testing sons in our program.

Banquet Angus

Banquet Fortune F710

Sire: Banquet Ballis B017
Dam: Banquet Dream C074
Pedigree:    >> Click here to View

Click Here to Read Notes >

Notes: F710 would be the most powerful son of the mighty Ballis B017 that we have used. He is large framed and long bodied but it is his exceptional depth and muscularity that is the most striking. F710 consistently adds extra bone and muscle to his calves. Much like a Euro but maintaining the fertility and doing ability of straight Angus cattle. For the record F710 has four crosses of the Dream Family.

Anvil Fusion F275

Sire: WK Replay
Dam: Te Mania Lowan Y147
Pedigree:    >> Click here to View

Click Here to Read Notes >

Notes: We purchased the $17,000 Fusion as our pick of a very impressive group of E.T brothers. Fusion attracted us with his strong loin, wide hindquarter and rugged head. His dam is equally impressive; she is deep bodied, soft and easy doing. Her progeny are consistently at the top end of their contemporary group. Keith Kerridge recognised this when he purchased her as an aged cow for $16,000. If Fusions daughters inherit the traits of Y147 they will be very valuable to our program. Fusion sons have proved very popular. J285 sold for $15,000 in 2015 and K312 topped our 2016 autumn sale at $21,000.

Banquet Everard E019

Banquet Everard E019

Sire: Banquet Ballis B017
Dam: Banquet Dream B509
Pedigree:    >> Click here to View

Click Here to Read Notes >

Notes: Everard E019 is a very popular sire at Banquet. The depth and volume of his daughters and the quality of their udders make them favourites. E019 is one of 4 sons of Ballis B017 used at Banquet. Ballis was an exceptional calving ease sire as have all of his sons.

Banquet Day Dream D035

Banquet Day Dream D053

Sire: Banquet Xtra Belief X030
Dam: Banquet Dream V104
Pedigree:    >> Click here to View

Click Here to Read Notes >

Notes: We selected D053 to use as a yearling. His dam, Dream V104, has had a huge influence at Banquet. She produced 14 sons averaging $10,700. Her sons, Xplanation X060, Zappa Z236 and Day Dream D053 have all left an exceptional line of females. The daughters of D053 are so valued that he was our most used back up sire in our spring 2015 joining. His sons are sensational as well. They include Forbidabull F485 who topped our 2012 Sale to Onslow Stud at $26,000. F485 sired our 2015 Sale topper at $40,000.

Banquet Angus

Banquet Duncan D412

Sire: Wittalocka X10
Dam: Banquet Dream A250
Pedigree:    >> Click here to View

Click Here to Read Notes >

Notes: Duncan D412 is the most predictable sire line we have worked with. Whenever a cow needs more bone or capacity or hindquarter width we reach for D412. His progeny have exceptional weight and breed leading docility. In fact his progeny are so good his sons, G306 and J507 are taking his place. Duncan daughters are huge capacity females but maintain themselves as well as any. Their udders are neat and milk supply excellent. Duncan is a great example of a line bred Banquet sire. Three of the four lines in his pedigree trace directly to Banquet Kiwi Dream M41. Banquet Upright U53, Time Frame Y135 and Dream V109 all have stories too big for here. Breeding works, just use the good ones.

Banquet Zappa Z236

Banquet Zappa Z236

Sire: Dylemma Radar W42
Dam: Banquet Dream V104
Pedigree:    >> Click here to View

Click Here to Read Notes >

Notes: This son of the $40,000 Radar W42 was sold to Brad Saunders in Central Queensland as a young bull. His ability to thrive in that environment and the quality of his progeny at Banquet and in Queensland prompted us to repurchase him. His daughters are the standouts in the “F” drop. They are sleek skinned, fine fronted, deep bodied and have excellent udders. They are breeding very well and several have joined our donor team. They are just like Dream V104, the dam of Zappa. We are now using Z236 in A.I. and E.T.
